Horizon Power: Key leadership appointments announced

Krystal Skinner has been appointed General Manager Customer Experience. Krystal joins Horizon Power from Synergy where she worked across the business in a variety of roles, including innovation and growth (new energy), marketing and products and markets.

Highlights from Krystal’s time at Synergy included the transformation of Synergy’s digital channels, including a refreshed website presence recognised in SAP’s 2016 digital experience report, along with the launch of Synergy’s brand platform and development of new product lines such as solar and storage options . Prior to her time at Synergy, Krystal worked across regional WA as the marketing manager for the Macquarie CountryWide Trust.

Jennie Milne is Horizon Power’s General Manager Employee Experience. An experienced transformational Human Resources (HR) leader, Jennie has spent the past 10 years as the General Manager of Human Resources for the RAC. During her time at the RAC, Jennie measurably increased employee engagement and was recognised as ‘Leader of Year’, achieving four consecutive WorkSafe Plan Platinum accreditations and Healthier Workplace Gold status.

Jennie has extensive experience across software development, quality assurance and more than 20 years in human resources. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Mathematics & Computing), a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, where she won UWA’s award for Strategic Human Resource Management, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ray Achemedei has been appointed General Manager Technology and Digital Transformation. Ray has more than 25 years of global information technology experience in the resources sector, for companies including CITIC Pacific Mining, Rio Tinto, Iluka Resources, Fortescue Metals, Oakajee Port and Rail and Crosslands Resources. Ray will lead Horizon Power’s efforts to transform to a digital utility.

Nichola Holgate completes the Horizon Power Executive Leadership Team as the General Manager External Affairs and Communications. Nichola most recently led the Bankwest Corporate Affairs team during the company’s digital transformation. She has more than 30 years of corporate affairs experience having worked in the UK, Europe and Australia across a range of sectors include financial services, mining and resources, manufacturing, utilities, motoring, insurance, travel, food retailing and the wine industry.

Horizon Power Chief Executive Officer Stephanie Unwin said these leaders will help deliver Horizon Power’s new corporate strategy which is working to deliver innovative energy solutions and connect customers and communities.

“These appointments enhance our senior leadership capability and will help us deliver on our commitment to ensuring ongoing safe, reliable and efficient electricity generation and distribution to our regional and remote customers in Western Australia,” Ms Unwin said.

“I am very pleased to have secured such high calibre leaders from within our Western Australian talent pool and look forward to working with Krystal, Jennie, Ray and Nichola in the future.”
