Newcastle, AUSTRALIA – March 2023 – Energy technology company SwitchDin announced today that it bolstered its executive team with the appointment of two new technology leaders, with Tim Schier joining as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Sebastian Welsh as the company’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Since late 2022 Clayton Newland has been acting CTO and will hand the reins to Tim Schier this month. Tim will lead the transition to new technologies to drive scale and deliver advanced capabilities for customers. He brings more than two decades of experience working with software-as-a-service technology companies in the aerospace and defence industries with small and large teams. Prior to joining SwitchDin, he was the Founding CTO and Head of Product at Eevi.Life, a technology provider to the care sector.
Also commencing this month, Sebastian Welsh will kick-off the newly established position of CISO in the company to strengthen the existing cyber capabilities of the team. Sebastian will lead SwitchDin’s security first approach and work with stakeholders to establish security frameworks for these emerging technologies. He has held roles as the Head of Security at Canva and Staff Security Engineer at Google prior to joining SwitchDin. With 17 years of experience in project and technical leadership roles, Sebastian’s expertise lies in building a whole-of-enterprise defence model within businesses.
Tim and Sebastian join the executive team with COO Marc Sheldon and CEO and Founder of SwitchDin, Dr Andrew Mears.
