Fox ESS launches all-in-one Power Cube system in Australia
Chinese renewable energy solutions provider Fox ESS has unveiled its Power Cube, an all-in-one residential energy storage system that combines an inverter and batteries into a single stackable unit.
The Power Cube utilises the manufacturer’s stackable 5.46 kWh EQ5500 battery units and scales from a baseline of 10.92 kWh up to 49.14 kWh across two to nine modules.
Brooks Richard, managing director of Asia Pacific and Middle East at Fox, said the Power Cub has been engineered to allow homeowners to choose a system that suits their household energy needs.
“Power Cube has been designed with the Australian market in mind,” he said. “It delivers superior round-trip efficiency and a flexible range of capacities that align well with Australian household energy needs and available battery rebate tiers. Just as importantly, its integrated design simplifies installation, helping installers deliver a complete energy storage solution with greater ease.”
Fox said the single-phase models, ranging from 5 kW to 12 kW, are already Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved while three-phase variants ranging from 5 kW to 15 kW are coming soon. The system supports solar panel oversizing up to 200%.
The Power Cube includes an integrated gateway that provides 63 A full-home backup. The system is managed via Fox Cloud 2.0, allowing users to monitor the system in real time and adjust settings remotely across Wi-Fi, LAN, and Bluetooth protocols.
The system is housed in an IP66-rated enclosure, ensuring it can be installed indoors or out. Each battery module includes inter-cell insulation and an aerosol fire-suppression unit, and the system includes built-in heating to help maintain battery performance in cold conditions. The Power Cube comes with a 10-year product warranty.
Fox said that putting the inverter and batteries together in one unit makes installation simpler and faster for electrical contractors and solar installers.
“Power Cube brings installation simplicity, expandable storage and smart energy management together in one residential solution,” the manufacturer said. “For installers, it offers an integrated system designed to streamline delivery; for homeowners, it provides flexibility as their energy needs evolve.”
