Anker Solix upgrades X1 home storage system with Power Dock Pro in Australia

Anker SOLIX has released the Power Dock Pro in Australia, an automatic transfer switch and energy gateway that extends the X1 system from critical load backup to whole-home backup, while adding controlled off-grid operation for third-party solar inverters.

With key government battery rebates scheduled to decrease in May, the Power Dock Pro’s simplified parallel wiring allows installers to efficiently commission multi-battery X1 systems — helping customers lock in maximum subsidies before the deadline.

System architecture

The Power Dock Pro sits between the grid, the X1 battery system, and all household loads, replacing the need for a separate backup switchboard sub-circuit. Its 63A interface — rated to AS/NZS standards — covers the full load of a typical Australian home without requiring load segregation. Two 63A inverter ports support parallel connection of two X1 units on a single power cable each, cutting wiring by 50 per cent compared to conventional parallel configurations. Load-side switching is rated at 0ms, delivering UPS-grade transfer with no perceptible interruption to connected devices.

Third-party solar integration

The 63A Smart Port accepts AC input from grid-tied third-party solar inverters and manages frequency regulation during off-grid operation, allowing existing solar to continue charging the X1 battery during blackouts without triggering anti-islanding protection. The Smart Port also accepts controllable loads — pool pumps, resistive hot water systems — enabling load priority management under constrained solar generation or low battery SOC*.

Installation efficiency

Built-in multi-point metering across Grid, Backup, Non-Backup, and Smart Port circuits eliminates external CTs, standalone energy meters, and changeover switches. Anker SOLIX reports a 30% reduction in parallel system commissioning time. Bottom and rear cable exits accommodate both surface-mounted and recessed switchboard installations. CT phase-sequence errors are among the most common causes of post-installation fault calls on battery jobs — the reduced component count directly lowers that risk.

Hardware and compliance

The Power Dock Pro shares the X1’s C5-M marine-grade anti-corrosion classification, making the complete system suitable for coastal installation environments. AS/NZS compliant and CEC-eligible. 10-year warranty, aligned with the X1. Compatible with the Anker SOLIX X1, supporting single-phase and three-phase configurations with parallel output up to 12kW and 24kW, respectively.

VPP and energy management

The system is compatible with most major Australian VPP programs — including Origin Energy, Amber Electric, and GloBird Energy — with automatic dispatch scheduling through the Anker app requiring no manual intervention. All monitoring data, including third-party solar output via Smart Port, is unified in a single platform.

The Anker SOLIX Power Dock Pro is available now through authorised distributors.
