The ECI phase, which will run for approximately five months, will include site studies, detailed engineering design, management plans and permitting support. This work will help shape the delivery strategy for a system targeting 400MW of capacity and up to 1600MWh of storage over four hours, positioning Teebar as one of Queensland’s most substantial future storage assets.

Enerven brings a strong track record in the delivery of large-scale energy storage projects, with experience that includes Origin’s Eraring BESS and AGL’s Torrens Island and Liddell BESS. Their demonstrated capability makes them a highly qualified partner to support Teebar through its next phase of development.

Atmos is committed to ensuring the project generates meaningful and lasting benefits for Queensland. The project will place a strong emphasis on working with local First Nations businesses, building regional employment pathways, and supporting local capability through procurement and supply chain opportunities.

Development Manager, Aideen McGuigan “selecting Enerven as our early-stage BOP contractor strengthens our delivery confidence and our ability to achieve the project’s objectives and timeframes. As this is a first development project in Queensland for both Enerven and Atmos, we look forward to creating long-lasting benefits and opportunities for local contractors and supporting the local supply chain so that the Teebar BESS delivers enduring value for the state and its communities.”

Simone Valencia, Project Delivery Director (NSW / QLD) said “Enerven is proud to be partnering with ATMOS and contributing to the ECI stage of this exciting project in Teebar, QLD. We’re committed to delivering innovative solutions and working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for the community and stakeholders involved.”

Construction of the Teebar BESS is expected to begin in Q3 2026, with an estimated 150–200 jobs created at peak construction.
