The new logistics centre joins BayWa r.e.’s existing facilities in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, further expanding its capabilities for installers. BayWa r.e. is now one of the only companies to have its own warehousing facilities in all four of Australia’s main states.
As part of the company’s ongoing programme of customer value derived digitalisation, BayWa r.e. will also launch a new dedicated web shop that will allow installers to quickly check stock availabilities, compare prices and place orders.
“Expanding our logistics network is evidence of our confidence in the market and supports our business growth plans for the region,” said Durmus Yildiz, managing director, BayWa r.e. Solar Systems Pty Ltd.
“Our new logistics centre will result in improved stock control, availability and speeding up of despatch times, while our new web shop will allow installers to easily check stock levels, compare kit prices and place orders 24/7. In the future, customers will even be able to design systems themselves. Together, they help us to better support installers and build closer relationships.”
One of the biggest benefits of using its own logistics facilities is that BayWa r.e.’s trained and highly knowledgeable team can put together and package all the components an installer needs.
Durmus added: “Through our team’s expertise and capacities of the new logistics centre, we further professionalize and improve delivery reliability. By offering the full services range from one source, from storage and racking to next day deliveries and convenient pickup services, we provide real added value for installers.”
BayWa r.e.’s continued expansion in Australia is driven by both the success of its distribution business and its confidence in the country’s growing solar installer market.
“Australia is a real success story for us and it is one that we see continuing,” said Daniel Gaefke, BayWa r.e.’s APAC director.
“With our logistics centre network, we are able to provide installers with exactly what they need, when they need it. They also allow us to get closer to our customers by providing expert on the ground training and support. Through new digital services, like our web shops, we then make it easy and convenient for installers to do business with us, and to support them online.”
BayWa r.e. is continuing with its investment, and its commitment to expanding its services for the country’s installer distribution market, with locations in the Northern Territory and South Australia next on the list.
