In this role, he will ensure the project is delivered safely, sustainably, on time, and within budget, while supporting pre-construction strategy, operational readiness, risk management, and health and safety.
Barton brings over 29 years of experience managing complex energy infrastructure projects across Australia and globally. He has held executive leadership roles at Hatch, Sun Cable, ExxonMobil, and RasGas, where he developed transformative projects like the $30 billion-plus Australia-Asia PowerLink and led the development and delivery of a $2 billion-plus portfolio of gas production projects in Australia and PNG.
His expertise spans renewable energy, offshore gas developments, and onshore plant infrastructure, consistently delivering exceptional results in remote and challenging environments.
Barton recently completed the Leading Strategic Projects course at the Saïd Business School at The University of Oxford. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
