Sicona receives NSW Clean Tech Grant to scale EFG coolant Ttechnology

Share

This funding will enable the design and construction of a pilot plant to refine and scale our EFG coolant, a solution that has the potential to reduce cooling energy use by over 50% in high-demand applications such as data centres and electric vehicles.

As energy demands grow and emissions targets tighten, cooling technology is emerging as one of the most important (and overlooked) challenges in the clean energy transition. Our graphene-based coolant tackles this head-on by dramatically improving heat transfer efficiency, which means less power consumed, lower emissions, and greater performance.

We’re grateful to the NSW Government, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Penny Sharpe, and Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology Anoulack Chanthivong MP for backing bold ideas like ours through the Clean Technology Innovation program and for recognising the important role emerging technologies will play in delivering a net-zero economy.

This is a big step forward for the Sicona team and a strong signal of confidence in the next frontier of advanced materials innovation.
