“Second Life Solar exemplifies a circular approach to solar panels by extending their life in new and innovative applications, which is exactly what CPVA is all about,” says Megan Jones, Co-Founder and CEO of CPVA.

“Second Life Solar brings a new piece of the puzzle to the circular PV economy and CPVA is excited to support their important work.”

Second Life Solar transforms Australia’s solar panel waste challenge into a powerful opportunity for sustainable energy, economic value, and environmental stewardship.

Second Life Solar was founded in collaboration with government, industry, and research partners, leading the reuse and repurposing of solar panels to create renewable energy solutions while championing the circular economy.

“We established Second Life Solar to create a fully circular model for solar energy, from reuse of perfectly good panels, all the way to recycling,” explains David Sleightholme, Strategic Industry Advisor at Second Life Solar. “We were motivated to join CPVA because of the real alignment towards sustainability and circularity in the solar panel and broader renewable energy space.”

Second Life Solar joins an esteemed and growing group of organisations pledging support for CPVA.

CPVA is a not-for-profit peak industry body formed to support the solar energy circular economy and associated stakeholders. CPVA partners with industry to identify and develop solutions and opportunities for the solar energy circular economy. In 2024 CPVA launched the world’s first circularity certification for solar energy projects, CPVA Certified, with support from the Taronga HATCH Accelerator Program.

CPVA looks forward to working with Second Life Solar and driving further innovation in the solar energy circular econom
