Australia’s only manufacturer of solar panels will pay $1,000 (USD 650) to the owner of a Tindo panel purchased after 1 November 2025, for a valid warranty claim that requires the replacement of a Tindo N-Type PV Module.
The first of its kind in the Australian solar PV market, the $1,000 Premium Warranty Offer is in addition to the comprehensive 25-year product warranty on all Tindo solar panels, that covers parts, transport, removal and reinstallation, should a Tindo solar panel malfunction.
The Premium Warranty does not nullify the purchaser’s rights under Australian consumer law.
Tindo has introduced the extra layer of product warranty as it ramps up production at its Adelaide factory, having won $34.5 million in funding from ARENA to expand output of its high-quality panels from around 20 MW per year to 180 MW.
Tindo CEO Richard Petterson said the Premium Warranty Offer reflects a growing market for high-quality, durable solar panels, and the demand for higher service levels among purchasers of high-quality panels.
“The Premium Warranty Offer highlights our confidence in the development of our panels, and that they are market-leading in durability, reliability and longevity,” said Petterson.
“What we know consumers and our partners are looking for is the peace of mind to install solar panels which are going to stand the test of time, and to perform in our local environment. We know our solar panels can do that, so we decided to further strengthen our commitment to quality in the eyes of the market.”
Tindo panels topped the most recent CHOICE product review of solar panels available in the Australian market.
Tindo’s 410 W Karra solar panel received a 92% overall ranking ahead of the second-place panel on 80%; the CHOICE review was notable for the fact that the Tindo panel was the only one of 18 tested where the power output matched the claim on the nameplate.
“We have always invested in design and engineering, we collaborate with global supply chains and we have significant innovation partnerships with Australia’s best research institutions,” said Petterson.
“Our panels are world-class and we are matching that with revamped aftermarket servicing. The owner of a Tindo panel doesn’t just have worry-free equipment – they also have worry-free aftermarket care.”
