Bede Noonan, Acciona’s Chief Executive Officer Australia and New Zealand, reinforced how pleased the company is to be collaborating with Transgrid on such a critical project.
“Acciona has been delivering complex and sustainable projects to enhance the lives of Australians for over 100 years. And we are delighted we are continuing to do so with a project that will not only expand the capacity of the electricity network in southern NSW, bringing greater reliability and affordability for households, but also bolster the integration of renewable energy into the grid,” Noonan said.
Subject to approval from the Australian Energy Regulator and final investment decision from Transgrid, HumeLink will see the construction of a 385km route in two sections (east and west) and involve new transmission lines and new or upgraded infrastructure at four substation locations.
For the Acciona and Genus joint venture this would involve the design and construction of 237km of dual circuit 500 kV Overhead Transmission Lines running from Bannaby to Wondalga, and the upgrading of the Bannaby 500 kV substation.
