Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference is an annual event held in Bangkok, Thailand that is dedicated to advancing future energy solutions for the region. Future Energy Asia promises to bring together the complete energy value chain in one unique meeting place and is the perfect platform to foster a secure, affordable and low-carbon mix across Asia.

Taking place between the 12th – 14th December 2018, Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference, taking place at BITEC in Bangkok, is projected to attract 15,000 trade visitors, 600 exhibitors, 300 speakers and 4,000 delegates over three days of interactive networking at the premier business platform for connecting energy professionals and fostering collaborative discussions.

The global energy industry continues to adapt to changing market conditions and Thailand has also responded by moving forward with its own natural gas market deregulation. In its efforts to open the domestic natural gas industry EGAT becomes the second Thai organisation capable of procuring and importing its own LNG cargoes.

The responsibility of EGAT has been widened to embrace the role of an importer of LNG and to lead the development of infrastructure to support the imported LNG for electricity generation in EGAT power plants. As a result, EGAT’s business will be a complete business cycle of upstream, midstream, and downstream activity. This mission was entrusted to EGAT by the resolution of the National Energy Policy Council. According to the resolution, EGAT will be the first third-party to supply natural gas to the PTT system with the maximum of 1.5 million tons of LNG per year for use in EGAT power plants starting from 2018. Moreover, EGAT will implement the construction project of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit to support the import of LNG of 5 million tons for use in electricity generation of South Bangkok Power Plant Units 1 and 2 and North Bangkok Power Plant, as well as supplying to the natural gas pipeline system.

This is a project intended to inspire new entrepreneurs active in the natural gas industry in Thailand and to add more entry points for the natural gas pipeline system to increase stability in the acquisition of natural gas and promote competition in Thailand’s natural gas industry.

Future Energy Asia Exhibition and Conference provides a good platform for EGAT to communicate is diversification goals with local and international leaders from the energy industry. As co-host EGAT will actively participate in this event by showcasing our organisation in the exhibition and sending our staff to the strategic and technical conferences. Mr. Viboon Rerksirathai, Governor, EGAT will present an opening keynote address and will highlight EGAT’s long-term strategy and outlook on Thailand’s energy mix at the event.

We look forward to hosting this prestigious annual conference and exhibition and bringing the international energy community to Thailand with your support.
