Ministers noted the interim National Electricity Market reliability and security measures delivered ahead of this summer to prepare the system for any increased demand and to support electricity supply remaining reliable and secure for Australian consumers.
Ministers also noted the ongoing work of the Energy Security Board to deliver the Post-2025 Market Design project and discussed a Directions Paper, to be published in January 2021, detailing initiatives to be pursued for the remainder of the project.
Ministers discussed a framework for the package of reforms to gas pipeline regulation. This work is part of the commitment made by Ministers to deliver a set of reforms to unlock gas supply, improve competition in the market and better regulate pipelines by July 2021.
Ministers will next meet in early 2021.
