The announcement by the New South Wales government revealed $2.8 million will be invested as part of a new grant program to deliver a total of 436 chargers across 130 suburbs. EVX will deliver over 50% of the announced EV chargers, receiving 27% of the total co-funding from the NSW government.

EVX CEO, Andrew Forster, said: “Convenient access to EV chargers remains a big challenge for EV drivers in some of Sydney’s most well-established and densely populated suburbs, also having the potential to put-off many potential EV owners in these areas for lack of charging infrastructure.

“EVX is proud to be part of this program to provide a significant boost to the number of EV chargers across Sydney, with our unique pole chargers continuing to demonstrate their capability as an incredibly cost-effective charging solution. Thanks to our previous and extensive deployments across NSW, we have developed an efficient and rapidly scalable approach to the deployment of kerbside charging infrastructure which delivers value to drivers and communities.”

The Australian-designed and made pole-mounted EV chargers were developed by EVX from the ground up to meet the technological limitations utility providers and local governments face in rolling out EV charging infrastructure sustainably while adhering to local regulations.

By using AC power with smart charging capability, EVX chargers have a low impact on the local electricity grid while being installed on the existing utility pole infrastructure, negating the need for disruptive civil works and ensuring a speedy rollout. The new EVX chargers will be located at:
