This project, the 15th built by GRS in Australia and one of the biggest DC-coupled hybrid projects to date, represents a significant milestone in the mission of the company to drive innovation and sustainability in the construction sector.
Fulham Solar Farm is located in the state of Victoria and will provide additional electricity supply and reliability to the grid in the region east of the Latrobe Valley.
Additionally, Fulham Hybrid project is part of the VRET 2 and will maximise the utilisation of local content. GRS will achieve this by engaging local companies for labour and materials, and sourcing steel content from Australian suppliers, part of this will be done by PVH that will manufacture the Axone Duo Infinity locally in Australia. GRS is committed to maximising the use of local businesses, tradespeople and apprentices during the construction and operation phase ensuring that the project delivers significant benefits to the local community.
Sonia Teitel, Octopus Co-Managing Director of Renewables Australia, commented: “GRS has continually demonstrated a solutions-orientated approach to the Fulham Solar Farm and Battery Project. We look forward to drawing on their expertise throughout construction of the hybrid project and working together to deliver long-term benefits to the local community.”
Jose Miguel Plaza Pardo, Managing Director of Gransolar Group in Australia, commented: “We are delighted to have been selected to carry out this innovative project. The Fulham project is one of the first utility scale DC-coupled hybrid projects that will be connected to the grid and GRS would like to thank Octopus Investments Australia for trusting in GRS’s experience to carry out this challenging project. This project marks an important milestone in our partnership with Octopus, highlighting our shared commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions and driving sustainable growth.”
Plaza also took the opportunity to thank the GRS’ staff. “The collaboration and effort of our team during the contract negotiations have been crucial in securing this award. We are eager to begin execution and once again demonstrate our ability to deliver successful projects,” he added.
For his part, Jaime Sánchez-Moreno de Juan, Head of Business Development and Strategy, highlighted the importance of collaboration between the companies that make up Gransolar Group to create alliances with large partners.

This project not only stands as one of our key initiatives in this market but also highlights the vital role local communities play in driving a more sustainable future,” he stated.
