The facility was recently recognised by energy consultancy Rystad Energy as Australia’s top-performing utility-scale solar asset for the month of April. With this new contract, the Gransolar Group company specialised in the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic and energy storage systems strengthens its robust footprint in Australia, where now manages an Australian portfolio exceeding 1.5 GW.
GRS O&M has been operating Edenvale Solar Farm since it was commissioned in March 2024. During this period, the plant—one of the most prominent in the Queensland region with 204 MW of installed capacity—has consistently achieved solid performance levels.
Its annual energy production is sufficient to supply clean electricity to over 60,000 Australian households. Furthermore, the plant makes a significant contribution to environmental sustainability by preventing approximately 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year, equivalent to taking 83,000 vehicles off the road.
The expansion of GRS O&M’s work at Edenvale Solar Farm comes at a time when the renewable energy sector is entering a maturity phase, with ongoing investment in new facilities alongside a growing focus on maximising the performance of existing assets.
“This agreement reflects the commitment of Gransolar’s team and our role as a long-term partner for ENEOS Australia and Sojitz Corporation. We are proud of the trusted relationship that began with the EPC phase and has now been extended for another five years, a testament to Edenvale’s outstanding performance—driven by the professionalism, dedication to health and safety, and quality of our team. This is an important milestone for Gransolar’s strategy in Australia and aligns with our objective to support more projects with top-tier O&M services,” states José Miguel Plaza, managing director of Gransolar Group in Australia.
“This renewed agreement is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and hard work demonstrated by our teams over recent years. We are proud of this achievement and look forward to building on our strong reputation as a trusted, reliable, and established O&M contractor in Australia. Together, we continue to energise a cleaner future,” adds Almero du Pisanie, O&M Manager of Gransolar Group in Australia.
Edenvale Solar Park Pty Ltd commented on the agreement: “Since the commencement of commercial operations, the GRS O&M team has demonstrated a strong commitment to safety and has consistently maintained a high plant availability, while responding promptly and effectively to various operational events. Through these efforts, we have built a strong and trusted partnership. Based on this proven track record, we have decided to enter into a long-term five-year contract. We look forward to the continued high performance of the O&M team”.
GRS O&M will carry out its work at Edenvale Solar Farm through on-site teams comprising mainly local workers, 24/7 monitoring from its Remote Control Centre (RCC) and the use of the latest technological advances to ensure the facility operates at peak performance throughout its entire lifespan.
