The sponsor of the solar power plant is French project developer and long-term investor Neoen, which has commissioned the construction company Bouygues Construction S.A. to build the plant. With the delivery of the inverters by the French manufacturer Schneider, another European company is contributing significantly to the project. Total investment for Coleambally is over $200 million (approximately €130 million). As part of the complex financing structure, all three banks act as Mandated Lead Arranger.

The Coleambally project involves the construction of a 190 MWp photovoltaic park in the state of New South Wales in southeastern Australia. General Contractor (EPC) Bouygues Construction S.A. provides all services required for the project through its Australian subsidiary – from the delivery and installation of the components, to the construction work and commissioning. In addition, the French construction company is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the PV park for 20 years. The main customer of the green energy is EnergyAustralia Pty Ltd., with whom a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been concluded. The grid connection for Coleambally is provided by the Australian transmission system operator TransGrid. Completion is scheduled for the end of September 2018.

Coleambally should produce enough electricity to supply more than 50,000 households. The annual saving of 300,000 tons of CO2 emissions corresponds to the decommissioning of about 90,000 cars.
