This expansion comes as Indonesia advances its energy transition to strengthen energy security, improve self-sufficiency and expand access to affordable electricity. As part of this effort, the country aims to deploy 100 GW of solar capacity, including 80 GW of distributed solar paired with battery energy storage systems (BESS) across approximately 80,000 villages, complemented by 20 GW of utility-scale solar. This policy framework creates a favorable market environment, allowing SEG Energy to leverage SEG’s established local presence to support its market entry.
SEG Energy is launching residential energy storage systems integrated with the SEG Home App, alongside commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility-scale storage solutions supported by a dedicated energy management system (EMS). These solutions are designed to support energy scheduling, improve system efficiency and enable remote operation and maintenance.
“The establishment of SEG Energy marks a significant milestone in SEG’s growth strategy as we expand beyond the module sector into the broader PV-storage market,” said Jun Zhuge, Founder and COO of SEG Solar. “Indonesia is accelerating its renewable energy transition, and energy storage will play an increasingly important role in enhancing grid resilience and enabling wider clean energy adoption. With our established footprint in the country and a growing portfolio of integrated solutions, we are well positioned to support this market opportunity.”
