The new International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF) will bring countries together to work through issues and build productive conditions for a reliable international hydrogen trade market.
Green hydrogen, which is hydrogen made from renewable energy including wind and solar, will play an important role in global energy supply and storage as countries work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by using renewable energy.
Australia has the natural resources to make green hydrogen for our own use and to supply to the world. A strong international hydrogen market will be a benefit to our economy and our goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach net zero.
In the IHTF, countries will learn from each other and share valuable knowledge, experiences and best practices.
Australia’s participation in the IHTF builds on its international collaboration in the hydrogen space including the Hydrogen Headstart Program and Guarantee of Origin Scheme.
