“With the Tesworld AR app, we offer our partners a completely novel sales experience,” said Daniel Hannemann, who co-founded Tesvolt with Simon Schandert in 2014. “They can rely on an innovative and entertaining technology to guide their customers through a new world of electricity storage right before their eyes.”
In the app, distribution partners choose which of five application scenarios suits them best. For instance, they can select a logistics hall where rechargeable batteries in fork lifts are charged at night using stored solar power to increase energy self-consumption. There is also the option of a car dealership which practices peak shaving using charging stations and a poultry farm where the storage system is used for back-up energy.
In the virtual world, distribution partners can demonstrate the benefits of energy storage: how electricity costs can be cut using battery storage systems, how consumption of electricity generated on-site can be increased, how expensive peak loads can be shaved – for instance by installing charging stations – how electricity can be used even without a grid connection and how energy storage systems can be used for grid stabilization.
“If we want to keep popularizing power storage then we and our partners need to be working innovatively in accordance with the state-of-the-art all the way down the line, including in distribution. That’s our motto,” Hannemann said.
Tesvolt’s free augmented reality app can be installed on the latest generation of Apple devices (iPads and iPhones). To access the various application scenarios, distribution partners can download QR codes from the Tesvolt website or can contact Tesvolt directly.
