A highly experienced leader in the energy sector, York joins AEMO from the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) where she currently serves as a commissioner. Prior to joining the AEMC, she served as chief executive of Powerlink Queensland from 2011-2019.
Having commenced her career as a power systems engineer, York brings deep industry experience in generator connections, transmission planning, regulatory investment and the delivery of major transmission projects.
She has also championed the delivery of customer outcomes as the energy sector transitions to net zero, establishing a consumer panel and Board-endorsed customer charter at Powerlink. In her current role as a commissioner she has continued to engage widely across the sector.

York has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical Engineering, a Master of Engineering Science, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Law from the University of Queensland. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia, a Registered Professional Engineer and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ course.
york will join AEMO from 14 March 2022.
