NEOS meters are now being used for new builds and will gradually replace existing smart meters over the next 15-20 years.
Trent Coster, Bluecurrent GM of Engineering – electronic and hardware says, “Beginning the installation of NEOS meters is an important step in delivering the next generation of intelligent grids.”
With greater processing power and faster data capabilities, NEOS meters are designed to support the growth of future applications such as increased electric vehicle charging, greater uptake of rooftop solar and batteries, improved power quality monitoring, and more responsive management of electricity demand. These will help networks and retailers respond to a more dynamic, decentralised and renewable powered energy system,” says Trent.
Bluecurrent owns and manages more than 2.7million advanced meters. The NEOS electricity smart meters will be used for new builds and full meter replacements.
