Emms has held senior leadership positions at ElectraNet for 17 years, most recently as the group executive, network services. In that role, he has managed a capital (CAPEX) budget of more than $300 million per year and an annual operational (OPEX) budget of approximately $50 million.
He has been responsible for the successful delivery of the major transmission lines to Oz Minerals’ Prominent Hill and Carrapateena mines, the synchronous condensers and the positive progress on the new transmission line on Eyre Peninsula and Project EnergyConnect, the interconnector between SA and NSW.
Emms holds an Honours degree in Engineering from the University of Adelaide and an MBA from the University
of British Columbia, Canada.
Emms’ appointment follows a comprehensive national executive search process conducted over recent months, which attracted a strong field of quality candidates.
ElectraNet acknowledges Rainer Korte’s steady hand in managing the business as Interim Chief Executive for the past six months. Rainer will return to his substantive position of ElectraNet’s group executive, asset management.
