Lithium Australia NL (ASX: LIT) provides this update on its cathode-material manufacturing business, conducted through its wholly-owned subsidiary VSPC Ltd (VSPC).
The now-commissioned VSPC facility was officially opened on 6 September by Ian Macfarlane, chief executive of the Queensland Resources Council.
VSPC has completed a number of pilot-plant production runs and will produce samples for lithium-ion battery-cell makers in China in the coming fortnight. In-house testing having confirmed the high capacity of VSPC’s LFP cathode material, VSPC will seek confirmation of that performance from customers.
COMMENT FROM LITHIUM AUSTRALIA MANAGING DIRECTOR ADRIAN GRIFFIN:
“We are convinced that VSPC’s elegant solution to increasing lithium-ion battery efficiency is the best available for the production of LFP cathode powders. The technology also has applications in catalyst and medical fields. Independent tests have already shown that VSPC cathode powders out-perform industry benchmarks – a compelling reason for cell makers to use VSPC material.”
