PSC Energy completes Sigenergy controller recall

PSC Energy swiftly replaced more than 480 Sigenergy single-phase Energy Controllers for affected customers, completing the recall program within three months of its announcement.

In addition, PSC Energy published a three-part article series outlining the recall scope, the replacement process, and key indicators customers can use to assess brand responses during product events.

The recall covers Sigenergy 8, 10, and 12 kW single-phase Energy Controllers with a quick-connect AC plug. Affected units pose a fire risk due to potential overheating of plugs. Updates and temporary firmware controls are via the mySigen app, with free inverter replacements and a two-year warranty extension for owners.

PSC Energy conducted the replacement program with two-person crews and area-based weekend scheduling. Jobs were grouped by location to minimise travel time and maintain predictable arrival windows. The team tracked each unit from removal to replacement and return.

Jake Warner, Director of PSC Energy, noted that the recall tested the company’s service systems as much as the product itself.

“A recall like this tests your systems and your service capacity,” Warner said. “We kept scheduling simple, we kept field work consistent, and we focused on clean outcomes for customers.”

The second article details what customers experienced on the day of replacement, including access requirements, typical on-site time, and PSC Energy’s approach to communication and tracking. The third article reviews Sigenergy’s response steps and provides a checklist for homeowners to compare long-term support across brands.
