Mr Petterson joins the company after a career focused on the water utility sector, which has included significant leadership roles in public and private companies including Queensland Urban Utilities and TRILITY.
Originally an engineer, Mr Petterson has also worked in the manufacturing sector and was the Chairman of AdelaideAqua, a Joint Venture for the operation of the Adelaide Desalination Plant during its commissioning and operation.
“My background in water utilities has taught me that natural resources can be responsibly used for the benefit of communities, and that the needs of people must be balanced with a sustainable natural environment,” said Mr Petterson.
“I’m proud to assume this role at a business which gives people the practical tools to create clean energy. It’s a trusted brand with a premium Australian-made product and I’m committed to ensuring that Tindo Solar grows as an integral part of the national energy transition.”
Tindo Solar employs 50 people at its $11 million factory at Mawson Lakes, SA. It uses the world’s most modern production line which installs the new global standard solar cell, the high-efficiency M10. The company makes a 410w rooftop panel for residential and commercial use, and a 550w utility-scale panel for larger projects.
Director of Tindo Solar, Glenn Morelli, said Mr Petterson brought experience and expertise across the government, private and SME sectors.
“Water and energy are both crucial services that must be delivered with reliability, affordability and sustainability,” said Mr Morelli. “Richard understands the needs of multiple stakeholders as we focus on growth, and we’re lucky to have him as our CEO.”
