Women in renewables reaffirm commitment to gender diversity through second edition of speakers guide

Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton said the overwhelming success of the guide’s first edition demonstrates just how important the document has been for women working in the industry.

“As an industry, it’s no secret that we have an abundance of highly-skilled, capable women working across different levels and positions nationally, many of whom are featured in both the first and second instalments of the Speakers Guide,” he said.

“From financial analysts, project managers and technical operators to Chief Executives, engineers, lecturers and scientists, I am confident at least one – if not many – very talented women would fit the bill for any speaking panels in each state,” Mr Thornton said.

“The second edition of the guide well and truly cancels out the excuse that event coordinators couldn’t find a woman to fit the required criteria. I look forward to sharing the panel with these talented professionals at future events. It is deeply humbling to be able to play our part in creating a renewable energy industry that is a leader in gender diversity,” he said.
