Bungala Solar Farm goes fully online as Australia’s biggest solar project to date

After being commissioned in stages, the Bungala Solar Farm near Port Augusta in South Australia is now fully operational. At 220 MW/275 MWdc, Bungala is Australia’s largest solar farm completed to date.

Bungala Solar Project starts generating to grid

A 45 MW portion of the Bungala solar farm has begun feeding electricity into the grid. The entire first phase of the project – a 137.7 MW PV plant – is expected to be completed in a few months.

Cbus Super, Dutch Infrastructure Fund to hold 80.1% in Synergy renewable portfolio

Construction and building industry superannuation fund Cbus Super has stepped forward, alongside the Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF) as the majority investors in Synergy’s solar and wind portfolio. The newly formed Bright Energy Investments vehicle will clear the way for Synergy to develop a pipeline of large scale solar and wind projects in WA.

Following hot on the heels of the WA energy minister’s approval to create a green power fund, the state-owned electricity provider is reportedly set to bring in a Dutch fund as an investment partner for its renewable energy projects.
