Net Zero Expo: Australia’s new sustainability event set to help transition to net zero economy

“We want the event itself to be net zero” says Craig Macfarlane, the Founder and Managing Director of Stirling Media, the organiser of the Net Zero Expo. “Given that attendee-travel accounts for the majority of emissions at any large event, we’re hosting the event in both Sydney and Melbourne, giving participants the option not to travel interstate, thus drastically reducing our own emissions”.

The event is designed to showcase tools and solutions for businesses, councils, property developers and households to cut emissions, reduce energy costs, prepare climate reports and meet evolving customer expectations.

The event features 13 industry-focused conferences designed to address the unique needs of sectors such as manufacturing, construction, public transport, supply chain & logistics, local government, green finance & investment, clean energy, fleet management, food production, packaging and more.

The exhibition floor showcases a plethora of decarbonisation products and services, including clean energy solutions, solar and battery storage, electric vehicles, sustainable building materials, energy-efficient appliances, recycling innovations, Artificial Intelligence, data warehousing, smart lighting and carbon accounting and climate-reporting software.

The urgency of transitioning to net zero emissions extends beyond environmental concerns—it’s essential for economic resilience and competitive advantage. Not to mention that mandatory climate reporting started on 1 January 2025.
