Mr Rod Woolley, a 20-year-old veteran of the renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy regulation sectors, will take over as chairman immediately at Solar SG, which leads the market as Solar Service Group, Sunbank Solar and SouthAus Solar.

Mr Woolley is also president of the Energy Savings Industry Association in Australia.

Concurrently, Ms Donna Freer, an executive leader with more than 15 years’ experience delivering sustainable change at companies including HomeRepair, Spotless and Healthscope, has joined Solar SG as CEO.

The company’s founders, Leon Siebel and David Rogers, both industry veterans, said Mr Woolley would help build new government relationships, drive the group’s R&D activities and pursue energy retail opportunities across the country.

“We’re delighted that an individual with Rod’s depth and breadth of experience and industry nous will play such a key role in taking us into new territory while maintaining our position as market leaders,” they said in a joint statement.

“And as Solar SG’s new CEO, Donna will plan and implement strategies to deliver solid business growth while embedding positive cultural change across the group.”

Founded in 2014, the Melbourne-based Solar SG has helped to transform the burgeoning solar battery storage market in Australia and now operates in all states and territories.

The group is close to introducing exciting new technology into the Australian market, the culmination of several years and millions of dollars of R&D effort, both locally and abroad.
