Risen Energy to start production at new 5 GW solar factory in China

Chinese solar manufacturer, Risen Energy confirms it will begin work at its new PV cell and module factory, located in China’s Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, next week.

Under a joint venture with Changzhou Xixi Modern Agricultural Development Co., spokesperson, Leon Chuang tells pv magazine around RMB 8 billion (US$1.23 billion) will be invested in the facility, which will manufacture Risen’s newest technology, including its half-cut cells, and multi busbar modules.

Work will start on January 17, he says, with the first modules expected to come off the manufacturing line by the end of Q1, to be used in early Q2.
